Returning to the New Sacristy and passing through the door at noon, one enters the Cloister of the Door: a fascinating space even if severely weathered by time. On the walls and in the lunettes is evident the ancient decoration, also due to the Muttoni, restored in 2022 and illustrating the Stories of St. Francis. In the centre of the green space surrounded by the portico is a beautiful marble well with the evocative and palindromic inscription "tibi sitis | sitis ibit", meaning: "if you are thirsty, here your thirst will go away". Note how the northern side is missing the portico, as it was incorporated in 1642 by the New Sacristy building.
